Full-size wagons are created for lowering. It’s is the reason why this stanced Mercedes E-Class S211 looks so cool and organic. This is a wagon-version of sedan Mercedes W211. But I guess that such station wagon Mercedes E-Class is better choice if you want to build a stance project. And truth be told, such wagons were more popular than sedans in Europe. Europeand are still loving such cars. That’s why some most powerful version are existing only in a shape of wagon. Just remember Audi RS6.
So, in this small review we will look at this stanced Mercedes-Benz S211 in more detail. You should know more about such cars even if you will never own such one. Even if you are thinking that huge SUVs are better. Spoiler: no! Wagons are much more comfortable.
Front end looks almost similar to sedan E-Class. However, wagon has the rails on the roof. Many European stance projects are having cargo boxes on the roof. They are just a part of overall design. I think it’s not the best idea at least due to larger fuel consuption. But some large slammed wagon with large cargo box can really look cool.
As for this stance Mercedes S211, it has a clean design and minimal changes. Both modifications are required for any qualitative stance project. And this one Mercedes is exactly such one.
Every stance project needs cool wheels and lowering. Owner has installed pretty cool 3-piece wheels with gray centers and wide polished outer rims. However I can’t say that I like such design. Likely owner could chose wheels with better design. But that’s my own opinion. Even classic BBS RS could look better. These centers have too ordinary design.
But as for lowering, owner has made all the best he could. Airlift is the best choice for this stanced Mercedes S211 or any another wagon. It’s not expensive, but air suspension gives you much more than lowering kit or even coilovers. It’s just most practical solution. You can drive all the week with ordinary, around stock fitment. But your car can lay on the ground on demand.
By the way, air suspension has else one advantage that can important for such wagons. Airlift allows to put in your trunk more heavy things and your car will stand horizontally, like without and luggage.
Lovered cars with lovering kits or coilovers can be pretty stiff when driving. But this is not about air bags. This old lowered Mercedes can be even more comfortable than much more expensive Range Rover. Just remember it!
