Guys from Lexus likely are producing not best-best cars in the world, but they always discover market and know what customers exactly want. Huge SUV? Not problem, we will make our Toyota Land Cruiser more luxury. Likely it’s almost true history of Lexus LX 570 creation. Really angry design? Not problem too, we will ask our designers to project such front end. But in the same moment, such brutal design can make Lexus LX 570 a good base for tuning. What do you think about it?
UPDATE 2024. As for me, I didn’t see a really cool tuned Lexus LX 570. But I have seen an awesome Lexus LX 600 with widebody from Liberty Walk. And that next generation really looks great. And that SUV is a qualitatively made tuning project. But here we would talk about already previous generation of LX.
Let’s back to conversation about creation of Lexus LX, according to market’s demand. We see such method everywhere in LX. No, it doesn’t means that LX is bad or not so good car. Simply if you are not average customer, who looks on this SUV only as on vehicle to move from point A to B, you can’t loose feeling that it’s only product of marketing. Lexus gives to their customers only what they like.
Else this generation offered an ordinary, naturally aspirated V8. Without modern technologies. Actually we can even say that this angry faced SUV had an obsolete engine from 2000s. Probably it’s great for customers. But it’s not a feature of really luxury vehicles. We are waiting to see in these vehicles new technologies, which would be an advantage of premium car. And only in 5-10 or even 15 years these technologies would appear in cheaper cars. But all this isn’t about Lexus. It looks that today Lexus LX570 is a SUV with old technologies and updated exterior.
But vehicle with design and features what we like and well-projected car – it’s not the same. Maybe in some moments it’s close, but not the same. There are a lot of cool cars appeared, people where shocked how cool these cars were. But almost nobody had really bought that cars.
Lexus knows what people want so well, so it’s hard to understand where we can make LX better. In exterior 100%. But no! Other wheels can change car look.
However, Lexus LX 570 has some advantages and own audience. This is large SUV, with large and powerful V8. By the way, even now Lexus has pretty simple and reliable V8, not like engines from Mercedes and BMW. No turbo and another complicated technologies. Driver can feel this SUV pretty old school in behavior and features. Even transmission shifter is still mechanical here.
But another side of all this oldschool are weak technologies everywhere. Even pre-owned 5-years old BMW X5 will have much better entertainment system than this brand new Lexus. And that’s cool that everybody can chose vehicle according to its taste.
