Unlike BMW and Mercedes, Audi doesnโt currently offer a high-performance sedan with an RS badge and a robust V8 engine. Instead, the Ingolstadt-based brand is primarily recognized for its stylish wagons. Although an RS6 sedan was once part of the lineup, it has been absent for many years.
The RS6 holds a special place in Audiโs history. Over the last decade, the RS6 Avant has been a regular participant in drag races against rivals like the Mercedes-AMG E63 and BMW M5. However, it often fell short, partly due to the added weight of its wagon design compared to a sedan.
Audi first introduced the RS6 back in 2002. The RennSport – or โracing sportโ – version of the standard A6 was Audiโs response to competition from BMW and Mercedes. Over the years, four distinct generations have emerged: the C5, C6, C7, and the current C8.
In its early days with the C5 and C6 models, Audi offered both the 5-door Avant wagon and a 4-door sedan. The journey began modestly in July 2002, with a twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V8 producing 444 horsepower and 428 lb-ft (580 Nm) of torque. Later, towards the end of the C5โs production (from April to September 2004), Audi introduced the RS6 Plus, which added 30 horsepower, thanks to upgrades by UK-based tuner Cosworth.

Between 2008 and 2011, the C6 generation brought Audiโs most impressive sedan engine yet – a 5.0-liter V10, similar to Lamborghiniโs but with twin turbochargers. This powerhouse delivered 571 horsepower, outperforming the BMW M5 V10 by 70 hp, making it a true beast on the road.
For reasons unknown, Audi decided to discontinue the RS6 sedan after the C6. As a result, the subsequent C7 (produced between 2013 and 2018) and the C8 (which debuted in 2019) have only been available as wagons. While the S6 sedan does offer a similar 4.0 TFSI engine, it lacks the distinct body kit, enhanced brakes, and other RS features.
Despite this, enthusiasts have created custom C7 RS6 sedans over the years. Recently, Auditography documented a unique 2023 Audi RS6 sedan based on the C8 platform. This one-of-a-kind vehicle, modified by the German tuning company Ado X Performance, began its life as a standard A6 3.0 TFSI model.
Widebody conversion of an Audi A6 C8 into an RS6 Sedan
The most noticeable modification is at the front, where a brand-new bumper and fenders have been fitted. Unlike the A6 and S6, the RS6 features unique headlights borrowed from the A7 lineup. This approach is similar to how the M3 Touring doesnโt share the same grille and headlights as the standard 3 Series. At the rear, theyโve added the RS6 bumper, complete with a prominent diffuser, a striking black mesh pattern, and the iconic quad exhaust system.

Naturally, the transformation wouldnโt be complete without a widebody upgrade. RS6 widebody has additional 40mm on each side. Adding up to an impressive 80mm or slightly over 3 inches in total. Its design is entirely reworked to include air suspension, a lowered stance. Else owner has replaced genuine wheels into these 22-inch set. And I guess these wheels fit this fast sedan the best.
Ado X Performance also modified the 4.0-liter engine, performing a Stage 3 remap and installing a Wagner intercooler. These upgrades boost the power output to an impressive 854 horsepower and 828 pound-feet of torque. As a result, this one-of-a-kind C8 RS6 sedan isnโt just unique in appearance – itโs also a true sleeper with the capability to exceed 200 miles per hour.
